MARINE FUEL ADJUSTMENT FACTOR
The cargo rates provided on this website are based on the current price of marine fuel. If the cost of fuel rises, NTCL may apply a fuel adjustment calculation to the above-quoted rates.
The marine fuel adjustment factor will be applied after any general inflationary factors have been calculated. This adjustment reflects NTCL’s increased cost of providing transportation services, and excludes any additional operating margins. This adjustment would be recalculated annually on February 1st and applied to the rates for the coming season.
HNS CARGOES ADJUSTMENT FACTOR
NTCL will transport hazardous goods for the standard northbound cost, plus the following additional fees:
- A flat administrative charge of $100, reflective of the increased volume of regulatory and compliance activities that are required
- A premium of 10% on the standard northbound rate
For hazardous goods, the Northbound rates shall apply to northbound, southbound, and lateral cargo. Hazardous goods will be accepted only if they are packaged in compliance with all regulations, and palletized or otherwise suitable for handling with a forklift.
GOODS AND SERVICES TAX
The rates quoted are in Canadian dollars and exclusive of GST.
